How long have you been in business?
Twenty years self-employed. I also have experience in free-lance writing, training to mental health professionals, university teaching, and public speaking. I've worked as a psychologist in a government agency and a program manager for a DoD contractor.
What is your primary product or service?
Counseling,psychotherapy, life coaching, and sports psychology using hypnotherapy, cognitive therapy, and Neuro-Linguistic Programming. I address health concerns (weight, smoking, insomnia), emotional issues (fear, anxiety, anger), motivation, and improved performance.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
I have a Ph.D in Counseling. I am a Licensed Psychotherapist. I am a certified Master Clinical Hypnotherapist, and certified Master Practitioner and Trainer in NLP.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
I have more experience and qualifications than most practitioners, including teaching and publishing in my field. I offer a wider range of services. I have evening office hours. I give senior and military discounts. I am a provider on the Military One Source program.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
I have one location in Springfield, VA. I don't intend to expand, but I do offer some appointments by phone. I have a service called "personalized Hypno-Coaching CDs" where I can interview by phone, and produce a hypnotherapy CD and send it by mail.

What are your hours of operation?
Office hours Monday through Thursday, 1 pm to 9 pm. Appointments only. I usually schedule appointments in the morning hours and see clients in the afternoon and evening.
