ForWord Consulting has been helping students with the college admissions process for over five years.
What is your primary product or service?
We provide in-your-home college admissions counseling. We have multiple packages from all inclusive to hourly. We create individualized action plans for each student at that student's current academic level and work with our clients through the admissions process. Our counselors include English professors who have proven strategies to help students with the dreaded essay prompts. And we're well-versed in financial aid processes to help parents understand how to maximize your financial options.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
Catherine Ganley, the founder of ForWord Consulting, has spent a lifetime immersed in higher education. With undergraduate degrees in biology and English and a masters in English composition, Catherine has worked as a lead business writing course creator and instructor both internationally and domestically. Additionally, as a professor with George Mason University and Northern Virginia Community College, Catherine and Forword understand the rigors of collegiate life and want students to succeed.
With college students of our own, we understand the pressures today's students are under and we want to help honor each student at his or her current level.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
We come to you and honor the student you have, no matter the grades, activities, or academic goals. With tailored plans, we gladly walk both parent and student through the process--choosing schools, letters of recommendation requests, writing essays, etc.--to help reduce the stress college application season brings.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
We serve all of Northern Virginia and Washington DC and have worked with students from many private schools, public schools both in-state and out-of-state.
