How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
It was a life goal to own my own place. Worked at the Snuggery Cafe, first restaurant experience. Then went to work with Bread and Chocolate in Old Town and got all my managing experience, and learned first hand how to run a coffee shop.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
We are a family oriented coffee shop, that serves as a meeting place for the community. We also promote, other businesses by buying local, such as our baked goods and coffee. Having local artist display their works, play original music and read poetry. We fill the gap between home and work. The third place.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
We have only one location, but with my ambitious partner we had three within three years of opening this location. I found that to be successful you only need one.

We are located between Crystal City and Old Town, Alexandria. From the north take rt. 1 south, make R turn on E.Custis St. bare slight right to E. Del Ray Ave. We are on the corner of E. Del Ray and Mt. Vernon Ave.
